Guitarist Teis Semey (DK) has quickly made a name for himself in the last few years. If with the punk-infused avant garde of the Teis Semey Quintet, the choral folky Midnight Mess or the electro/acoustic Raw Fish, his storm-in-with-guns-blazing attitude to music has earned him his spot as one of the most important young up-coming names in the European jazz scene.

The “rising star” (NRC) has four albums behind him, and there is no sign of stopping. In 2023 he released Midnight Mess vol 1, in 2024 his debut with Raw Fish “Crudo” (Loumi Records) dropped in April and his next album with the quintet will follow in September.

The Danish country boy turned street-punker turned jazz musician is out for the kill, and always hungry for music. His live shows show depth, variety, camaraderie and youthful energy of the Amsterdam scene. As a bandleader he finds ways of contrasting anarchy and madness with a tight, together band, operating with thoroughness and precision (London Jazz News).
